Cougars’ pair tie as MSC medalists

North Harrison’s golf team landed its second consecutive Mid-Southern Conference golf tournament championship in perfect conditions on Saturday.
The Cougars had a team total of 316, which was a whopping 17 strokes better than second-place Brownstown Central.
The winners had three players in the top three positions, including a tie for medalist honors.
Zach Davis and Cole Duffy each carded 77s on the par-71 course, followed by Kyle Mattingly’s 78.
Bryan Stephans and Ben Fouts rounded out the team with an 84 and an 87, respectively.
Heading into the meet, the Cougars owned a sizzling season mark of 59-7 after a narrow loss last Wednesday to Clarksville.
Corydon Central finished fifth in the conference with a team score of 343.
Alex Zimmerman knocked an 84, Dustin Thomas had 81, Bruce Toler carded a 92, Matt Key had an 87 and Chris Becker came away with a 91.
