Art on the Square returns with improv, music
The sixth annual Art on the Square festival is May 21 and 22 in downtown Corydon. Area artists will display their creations, and the public will have the opportunity to view pottery, paintings and other works as they take shape.
As of yesterday, 42 artists were booked to exhibit, and more than 150 pieces of art by Harrison County students will be on display in the first floor hallway of the Harrison County Court House.
‘A lot of the artists have been here before, and they are coming back because they love being in Corydon,’ said Linda Ray, event organizer.
Both days will feature a variety of entertainment on the Hurley D. Conrad Memorial Bandstand and food vendors, including: Gerdon Youth Center, Corydon Central Vanguard, Corydon United Methodist Church, New Middletown Boy Scouts, and Corydon Central High School Gold and Glitz dance team.
Art on the Square is hosted and sponsored by the South Harrison Community School Corp. in cooperation with the Harrison County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The CVB can be contacted for information at 738-2138.
