Howard J. Etienne, 80, Leopold, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Owensboro (Ky.) Medical Health Systems.
A native of Leopold, born May 18, 1924, he was the son of the late Frank and Velma Murphy Etienne.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Central Perry Fire Dept., Leopold Conservation Club and Perry County Civil Defense. He was a farmer and timber man.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Ida Mae Cunningham, in 1967; three brothers, Frank Jr., John and Fred Etienne; two sisters, Eloise Etienne in infancy, and Evelyn Kellems, and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, the former Rosemary Flamion; a son, Donnie Etienne of Leopold; four daughters, Barbara Beckman of Lanesville, Shelia Giltner of Sullivan, and Marlene James and Joanne Flamion, both of Leopold; two stepsons, Greg Hubert of St. Croix and Larry Hubert of Leopold; two stepdaughters, Etta Clark of Newburgh and Marilyn Beckman of English; a brother, Robert Etienne of Florida; two sisters, Velma Rose Harlen of Indianapolis and Edith Naviaux of Tell City; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Thursday, April 21, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Officiants: The Revs. Sean Hoppe and Barnabas Gillespie.
Arrangements: Huber Funeral Home in Tell City.
