Jessie L. Cooley

Jessie Lester Cooley, 86, New Salisbury, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at his home.
A native of Washington County, born Feb. 11, 1919, he was the son of the late Samuel W. and Cordelia Callahan Cooley.
He was a retired truck driver for the old Kentucky Transport Co. and an Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Mae Cissel, and a daughter, Shirley L. Gant Clifton.
Survivors include three sons, L. Raymond Cooley of Georgetown, Johnny G. Cooley of New Salisbury and Donald W. Cooley of Marengo; four daughters, Judy C. Liebert of Depauw, Lois R. Phillips of Mauckport, Joyce A. Powell of New Salisbury and Rose M. Cox of Depauw; two sisters, Mildred Muenchigian and Genevieve Cohoe, both of Louisville; 28 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, April 4, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with burial in Saint Michael’s Cemetery in Bradford.
Officiant: Brother Rollie Collins Jr.
Music: Brian, Connie and Sherry Collard.
Military rites: Performed by Milltown American Legion.
Pallbearers: Bill Kidd, Jack Stickler, J.R. Hampton, and Nathan, Keith and John Adams.
