Alva Brown Jr.

Alva Brown Jr., 77, Elizabeth, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Corydon, born Jan. 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Alva Sr. and Mary M. Gutkese Brown.
He was a retired concrete construction laborer, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of VFW Post 2950 in Corydon and First Baptist Church of Elizabeth.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary E. Womack; a son, Timothy P. Brown of Elizabeth; a daughter, Rebecca Brown Mills of Elizabeth; two sisters, Norma Lee Miller of Corydon and Bonnie Dotson of Greensburg; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, April 2, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Officiant: The Rev. Robert Stewart.
Military rites: Performed at the grave site by Hornickel Post American Legion at Elizabeth.
