Mix fans 10 in victory

Lanesville’s Brittany Mix struck out 10 batters and was one pitch away from a perfect game last Thursday afternoon.
Mix, a senior who normally serves as shortstop for the defending Class 1A sectional champion Lady Eagles, had her perfect game spoiled in the fourth inning on an error.
Nevertheless, Mix helped her own cause as she had a double, and Beth Dorgay roped a pair of extra-base hits (including a triple) in the 10-0 no-hitter against Restoration Christian.
New Albany spoiled Lanesville’s opener last week, 3-0.
Lady Eagle hurler Allison Horton struck out 13 New Albany batters in the setback.
Christina Adkins doubled for Lanesville’s only hit of the game.
The Lady Eagles (1-1) returned to the diamond last night against Christian Academy and will host Clarksville today and Providence tomorrow, then travel to Orleans on Friday.
