Wayne O. Stroud

Wayne O. Stroud, 76, Marengo, died at 1:17 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Valeene, born Aug. 28, 1928, he was the son of the late William Otha and Grace Alice Weathers Stroud.
He retired from Carpenter Body Works, formerly of Mitchell, was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and a member of Harned Chapel Community Church in Bacon, Newton Stewart Masonic Lodge 432, VFW Post 8302 in Paoli and the Valeene Community Park Board.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Goldia Simpson, and three brothers, Elmo, Robert and Cleo Stroud.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, the former Doris Free; a son, Phillip Stroud of Paoli; two daughters, Cathy Ingle of Marengo and Denise Murphy of Monroe, Wis.; a brother, Glendon Stroud of Dallas; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 23, from 4 to 9 p.m. at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli.
Masonic Lodge Service: 8 p.m.
Funeral: Thursday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Harned Chapel Cemetery.
Officiants: Brothers Paul Richardson and Morris Larimore.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church or to Valeene Community Park.
