Mildred Schaefer

Mildred Bir Schaefer, 92, New Albany, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at her home.
A native of New Albany, she was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Tri-City Chapter of National Federation of the Blind.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John D. Schaefer.
Survivors include a son, Paul M. Schaefer of Lanesville; two brothers, Norbert Bir of Louisville and Claude Bir of Seattle, and two granddaughters.
Funeral: Wednesday, March 23, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to McDowell Center of the Blind in Louisville.
