Lewis J. Schneider

Lewis J. Schneider, 84, Lanesville, died Wednesday, March 9, 2004, at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany.
A native of Floyd County, born March 11, 1920, he was the son of the late William H. and Maudie F. Perkins Schneider.
He was a retired carpenter for the old U.S. Steel Homes in New Albany and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Berean Searches and Aid Association for Lutherans.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kendall, Marvin and Alfred Schneider, and a sister, Ellen Schooler.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marie Adams; three daughters, JoAnn Tillis of New Albany, Alice Hancock of Lanesville and June Stark of Texas; a sister, Geneva Lofton of Lanesville; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral: Saturday, March 12, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery. Officiant: Pastor Richard Heinz.
Arrangements: Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church’s building fund.
