Fern M. Bye

Fern M. Bye, 82, Milltown, died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at her home.
A native of Crawford County, born May 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Elsie Goldman Bowman.
She was a homemaker and attended Beechwood Bible Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bye Sr., on Feb. 14, 1994; three sons, John Ed, James Harold and Lonnie Dale Bye; an infant daughter; two stepdaughters, Naomi Plants and Emma Crecelius; a stepson, Owen Bye; two brothers, Jim and Arthur Bowman; two sisters, Helen Bye and Alice Ellenbrand, and three grandchildren.
Survivors include six sons, Roger and Paul Bye, both of Marengo, Mark and Charles Bye, both of Milltown, Wayne Bye of Oakland City and Ralph (Junior) Bye of Jasper; 10 daughters, Elsie Rogers, Connie Roby, Dorothy McDaniel, Ruth Cobb and Rachel Nickleson, all of Marengo, Alice Drury, Bonnie Berry and Virginia Bye, all of Milltown, Mable Williams of Corydon and Clara Bye of Petersburg; four stepsons, Ellis (Franklin) and Melvin Bye, both of Corydon, Elvin (Frederick) Bye of Montgomery, Ala., and Clarence Bye of Marengo; a brother, Paul Bowman of Topeka, Kan.; a sister, Emma Harris of Seymour; 48 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, Feb. 20, at English Wesleyan Church with burial in Pilot Knob Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Ben Watts.
Music: Hank and Reena Ruff.
Arrangements: Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo.
Pallbearers: Ralph Bye Jr., Wayne Bye, Paul Bye, Charles Bye, Mark Bye and Roger Bye.
