James R. Davis

James Russell Davis, 73, Yulee, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at his home in Pirates Wood, Fla., after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
A native of Harrison County, born March 23, 1931, he was the son of the late Hubert and Minnie Davis.
He was a 24-year Navy veteran, having served in the Korean and Vietnam wars prior to retiring in 1974 as a lieutenant commander.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Davis, and two sisters, Agnes Babcock and Alma Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Geri Davis; three daughters, Marie James of Charleston, S.C., Rhonda Foulk of Henderson, Nev., and Heather MacLean of Atlanta; two brothers, Joe Davis of Louisville and Earl Davis of Bremerton, Wash.; a sister, Alice Merker of Newton, Ga.; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Graveside service: Sunday, Jan. 23, at Green Pine Cemetery in Yulee.
Officiant: His nephew, Dr. Myron Hays.
Arrangements: Green Pine Funeral Home and Cemetery in Yulee.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the National Parkinson’s Foundation Inc. or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
