Curtis Mills, 72, Newton, N.C., formerly of Milltown, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Palliative Care and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton.
A native of Crawford County, born July 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Grace Austin Mills.
He was a consultant with Laz-y-Boy and a member of American Legion in Newton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Mills, and four brothers, Kenneth, Cecil, Eugene and Charles D. Mills.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dana Combs; three sons, Rusty Mills at home, Douglas Mills of Newton and Timmy Mills of Taylorsville, N.C.; three daughters, Kimmy Schultz of Newton, Vickie Stewart of Conover, N.C., and Glenda (Kay) Bennett of Kernersville, N.C.; two brothers, Earl Mills of Depauw and Ronald Mills of Marengo; three sisters, Madaline Stonecipher of Depauw, Ruth Mills of Milltown and Reba McFarland of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, Jan. 8, at Burke Mortuary in Newton with burial in Eastview City Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Al Stout.
