Panthers cruise at M.S.C.

Corydon Central dominated the Mid-Southern Conference Meet on Saturday at Salem High School, scoring seven champions out of the 14 weight classes.
The Panthers also had two runner-up efforts, three wrestlers finish in third place and two others in fourth.
In the finals, Brett Eads won by decision at 103-lb., Jared Applegate stuck his opponent at 112, Chris Paulley won by a pin at 135, Cory Paulley won by injury default at 140, and Jason Ward (152), Kyle White (160) won by pins. David Terhune was a winner by decision at 189.
David Camp (215) and Casey Tuchscherer (HW) both fell in the finals, but added to Corydon’s hefty 234 1/2 points total.
Defending champion Charlestown was runner-up with 187 points and four individual champions. Scottsburg took third place overall.
In bouts that settled third and fourth place, R.J. Snyder won by pin-fall, James Henderson (130) stuck his opponent, and Joey Falardo pinned a Charlestown grappler at 171.
Tyler Hoehn (119) was stuck, as was Chad Shireman at 145.
On Saturday at 9 a.m., the Panthers travel to Jeffersonville to take part in sectional action.
Other schools taking part are: Jeffersonville, New Albany, Charlestown, New Washington, Eastern, Providence, Floyd Central and Salem.
Admission is $5.
