Richard D. Watson Sr.

Richard D. (Dave) Watson, Sr., 62, Seven Valleys, Pa., died at 7:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at M.S. Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania after a battle with leukemia and lymphoma.
A native of Louisville, born Aug. 20, 1942, he was the son of Jesse G. Watson of Lanesville and the late Virginia M. Deakins Watson. He was the stepson of Geraldine Watson. Dave’s roots were in Indiana.
He graduated from high school in London, England, and spent four years in the 1960s in the Army’s ‘Old Guard’ at Ft. Myers, Va., He retired from the old GTE in 1996 after 25 years then he worked in Yellowstone National Park for five summer seasons.
Survivors besides his father include his wife of 41 years, the former Joyce B. Deller; two sons, Richard D. (Dave) Watson Jr. of Spring Grove, Pa., and Jesse A. Watson of York, Pa.; two daughters, Jennifer M. Warfel of Felton, Pa., and Frances M. Watson of Seven Valleys; a brother, Stephen G. Watson of Salt Lake City; a sister, Diana L. Meyer of Carmel, and eight grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life: Sunday, Jan. 30, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Seven Valleys Fire Hall.
