Joann Martin

Joann Martin, 73, New Salisbury, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
A native of Fredonia, Ky., born Dec. 29, 1931, she was the daughter of Mary Evangeline Polk Bugg of Fredonia and the late John Dan Bugg Sr.
She was a former 4-H leader, a volunteer for Reach to Recovery, a former Spencer Township trustee and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown. She was also active in the Indiana Pork Producers at state and local levels.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Survivors besides her mother include her husband of 56 years, Johnnie B. Martin; three sons, Danny Martin of Eckerty, Ronnie Martin of Corydon and Philip Martin of Palmyra; two daughters, Nancy Leffler of Depauw and Lu Ann Emily of Crandall; two brothers, John Dan Bugg Jr. of Fredonia and Bill Bugg of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 19, after 8 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. at Saint Bernard Catholic Church with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall.
Officiant: Father Fred Denison.
