Interested in arts? Attend this meeting
Are you interested in the arts? Want to bring more artistic opportunities and performances to Harrison County?
Then you might be interested in a new arts group that has formed under the direction of the Harrison County Community Foundation board and private citizens representing many different artistic perspectives. A task force, formed in September, has named the group Harrison County Arts! and applied for 501(c)(3) non-profit status with the Internal Revenue Service.
In December, the task force agreed on this mission: To create and expand opportunities for the arts in Harrison County.
To help make that mission possible and to get involved, the public is invited to an organizational meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Corydon Presbyterian Church. The plan is to develop an organizational structure at the meeting and work toward initial goals and incorporation. Pizza will be served.
For more information about Harrison County Arts! and to RSVP for the meeting, contact Sean Hawkins at 734-0581 or by e-mail at [email protected]
Two people who have been active in forming the council thus far are Corydon attorney Maryland Austin Scharf and Judy Hess, director of communications for Caesars Indiana.
