Leslie H. Skaggs

Leslie H. Skaggs, 85, Corydon, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of LaRue County, Ky., born Jan. 24, 1919, he was the son of the late Turner and Rosetta Warren Skaggs.
He was a retired grader operator for the Harrison County Highway Dept. and later worked for the CETA Program.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Mount Washington Baptist Church in Kentucky and American Legion Hornickel Post in Elizabeth.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Dale and Kenneth Wayne Skaggs.
Survivors include his wife, the former Gertrude Ritchie; four sons, James Skaggs of Depauw, Jerry Skaggs of Borden, Fred Skaggs of Ramsey and Paul Skaggs of West Baden; four daughters, Alice McDaniel of Edwardsville, Norma Waynescott of Corydon, Anna R. Skaggs of Evansville and Mary Lou Wethington of Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 7, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Glenwood Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Officiant: The Rev. Leland Lockhart.
Pallbearers: Steve Gray, Tim Coffman, Tony and Daniel Waynescott, Peggy Winters and Jason Skaggs.
Honorary pallbearer: Fred T. Skaggs Jr.
