Nelle H. Davis

Nelle H. Davis, 83, Princeton, formerly of Corydon, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.
A native of Orleans, born March 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Adna L. and Pearl Loveless Harris.
She was a 1962 graduate of Oakland City College and taught in North Posey School Corp. and North Gibson School Corp. until she retired in 1983. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and an elder and was active in the Women’s Association. She was also involved in the Home Economics Club, Order of Eastern Star (65 years), Tri Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma, The Tourists and PEO. She was also a Pink Lady at Gibson General Hospital.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Claude A. Davis Jr.; a son, Bruce H. Davis of Princeton; three daughters, Linda Sebring of Angola, Claudia Per of Peru and Suzanne Rudman of West Lafayette; a brother, Max Harris of Elgin, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Eastern Star memorial service conducted by Golden Fleece Chapter: Friday, Nov. 26, at Covin Funeral Home in Princeton.
Funeral: Saturday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home with burial in Columbia White Church Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. David Brookman.
The family suggests memorial gifts to First Presbyterian Church in Princeton.
