Sculptors sought for O’Bannon memorial

Main Street Corydon Inc. is announcing a commission for sculptors interested in creating a unique memorial for former Gov. Frank L. O’Bannon on the square in his hometown, the first state capital of Indiana.
O’Bannon, a Democrat, died unexpectedly in office last year at age 73 after suffering a stroke. He had been governor for almost seven years, the lieutenant governor for eight years, and a state senator for 18 years before that.
Sculptors who are interested in knowing more about the project can contact Leah Porter at 326 S. Capitol Ave., Corydon, Ind. 47112, 738-4878.
