James L. Philpot

James L. Philpot, 63, Ingalls, died at 6:45 a.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 2004.
A native of Corydon, born Nov. 28, 1940, he was the son of Faye Shireman Philpot of Corydon and the late J.B. Philpot.
He was employed as an engineer at International Harvester, attended Purdue University and was an Army veteran.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Regina L. Runner.
Survivors besides his mother include two sons, Rob Philpot of Jeffersonville and John E. Philpot of Ingalls; a daughter, Carrie F. Finkbiner of Ingalls; two sisters, Sue Herbaugh of Corydon and Janice Mitchell of Louisville, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Oct. 18, at Ronald Seals Funeral Home in Fortville with burial in Gravel Lawn Cemetery. Officiant: The Rev. Jack Stout Ingalls.
Military rites: Performed at the grave site by Fortville American Legion Post 391 and Fortville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6904.
The family suggests memorial gifts to any charity dedicated to researching head injuries.
