Donald L. Elgan

Donald Leon Elgan, 79, New Salisbury, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Bloomfield, born April 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Clarice Miller Elgan.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired driver for the old Ecoff Trucking Co. in Clarksville, a former owner and operator of Don’s Barber Shop in Clarksville, and a member of Crandall Masonic Lodge 591.
Survivors include a son, Donald Ray Elgan of Corydon; two daughters, Serena Kay Newkirk of New Salisbury and Asenath S. Arnold of Greenville; a brother, Harold Elgan of Greenville; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral: Friday, Sept. 24, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown. Officiant: Elder Harlan R. Maymon.
Pallbearers: Phillip Arnold, Richard Damon, Jeanne Schroeder, Veronica Dishman, James Crawford and Forrest Baker.
Honorary pallbearers: J. Newkirk and Gage Arnold.
