Boys tennis sectionals begin today

Pairings for the annual Indiana High School Athletic Association state tennis tournament were announced on Monday.
At Floyd Central, North Harrison battles the host school in the opener today (Wednesday) at 4:30. On Thursday at 5:30 (fast time), Eastern takes on Wednesday’s winner, while Crawford County goes up against Salem.
The championship will be played Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Play at New Albany begins on Thursday afternoon at 4.
Lanesville will battle Corydon Central while New Albany faces off against South Central.
The championship round is Friday at 4 p.m.
The Highlanders have never lost on their own turf, with 13 straight titles at Floyd. They also won four in a row at New Albany before they were awarded their own sectional site.
New Albany has won the past three sectionals, four in the past five years and 16 overall.
Corydon Central was the last squad to come away with the championship trophy. That came in 2000.
