Ernest Fisher, 84, New Albany, formerly of New Middletown, died Wednesday night, Sept. 15, 2004, at Lincoln Hills Healthcare Center in New Albany.
A native of Blackhawk County, Ky., born Jan. 7, 1920, he was the son of the late Horace A. and Lindell K. Frederick Fisher.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired farmer, an operator and salesperson for Petrey-Hedden Office Machine Store, and member of New Middletown United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Betty L. Sparks; two daughters, Dixie Lee Fisher of Louisville and Diana Sue Hutchison of Greenville; two brothers, Clifford Fisher of Corydon and Robert Fisher of New Salisbury; three sisters, Betty J. Saulman of Corydon, Susan M. Smith of Jeffersonville and Wanda Faye Williamson of New Albany; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial was private. Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon handled the arrangements.
