L. Mary Garcia

L. Mary Hess Garcia, 64, Corydon, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at her home.
A native of Louisville, she was a graduate of Loretta High School in Louisville, a member of Community Unity in Corydon, a library volunteer, a Cub Scout den leader and a political volunteer for Congressman Wayne Allard of Colorado. She was a former employee of Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville, the U.S. State Dept. in Mexico City, and a tour guide for the Corydon Capital State Historic Site.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Davison.
Survivors include her husband, Francisco (Pancho) Garcia; a son, William Francis Garcia; a brother, Jay Hess; two sisters, Elizabeth Buchheit and Kay Quire, and a granddaughter.
Visitation: Friday, Aug. 6, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.
Funeral: Saturday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with cremation to follow.
