Two Harrison County men were killed Saturday night when their vehicle hit a tree on Ripperdan Valley Road.
Corda Frederick Wiseman, 23, Mauckport, was driving a Ford F-250 truck south on Ripperdan Valley Road when it went off the road and hit a tree about a half-mile north of Squire Boone Road just before 9 p.m., according to Officer Michael Kurz of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Dept.
James Mitchell Coker Jr., 27, of Central was a passenger in the truck. The crash happened near his residence.
Harrison County Coroner Chad Cesar said both men died at the scene of injuries sustained in the crash.
Neither man was wearing seat belts, police said.
Kurz said ‘speed not conducive to the roadway’ caused the crash. ‘Evidence at the scene indicates no skid marks,’ he said.
Both sides of Ripperdan Valley Road in that area are tree-lined with heavy brush among the trees, police said.
