Harry E. Strange

Harry E. Strange, 76, Salem, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at 6:30 a.m. at Meadow View Health Care Center in Salem.
A native of Washington County, born May 3, 1927, he was the son of the late Harry and Goldie Childers Strange.
He was a retired self-employed truck driver, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of West Side Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers, Roscoe, Jack, Scotty, Paul, James, Harris, John and Marris Strange, and a sister, Betty Rose Brooks.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Robinette; two sons, Lash Strange of Salem and Mark Strange of Corydon; two brothers, Roger Strange of Salem and Charles Strange of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; six sisters, Mary Nicholson of Scottsburg, Bonnie Drager of West Covina, Calif., Ruth Winslow of Salem, Rachel Marshall of Floyds Knobs, Marie Williams of Sellersburg and Maxine Switzer of Paoli; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to time of service at Weathers Funeral Home in Salem.
Funeral: Wednesday, July 28, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Military rites: Performed at the grave site.
