Lelia S. Blank

Lelia E. Schoen Blank, 97, Lanesville, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at her home.
A native of Harrison County, born June 8, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Suzanne Eisenmenger Schoen.
She was a former cook at St. John’s School in Lanesville, a housekeeper and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius P. Blank; a son, Darrell Blank, and a grandson.
Survivors include five sons, Wilfred (Arkie) Blank of Lanesville, Herman P. Blank of Greenville, Oscar Blank of Corydon, and Alvin and Omar Blank, both of Lanesville; five daughters, Carmen Shewmaker and Lucille Stewart, both of Elizabeth, Doris Johnston of Louisville, Bernice Sonner of Lanesville and Suzanne Windell of Corydon; three sisters, Alma Menges of Lanesville and Clementine Schneider and Hermina LaDuke, both of Corydon; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 14, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, July 14, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. John’s Cemetery.
Officiant: The Revs. Richard A. Heinz and Russell Shewmaker.
Pallbearers: Darrell Shewmaker, Roger, Richard and Rodney Stewart, Troy and Wade Sonner, Doug, Darrell and Brian Blank and Jason Windell.
Honorary pallbearers: Joyce Conner, Ruth Schmidt, Paula Spagardi, Angela Windell, Natalie Timberlake, Tami Froman, Lori Reinert and Joy Sonner.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Building on Faith Fund.
