After an exhausting two days of the decathlon, Corydon Central graduate and Indiana University junior Jake Wiseman gutted out a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championship in Austin, Texas.
He scored 6943 points.
Wiseman’s highest finish of the meet was in his best event, the javelin. Wiseman tossed a 60.73m (199-03.00), which put him third overall.
Wiseman was 69 points behind Clemson’s Rick Hill.
Among his efforts were a 15.08 in the 110m hurdles, was 12th in the discus (131-01), 15-1 in the pole vault and ran a 5:34.23 in the 1500m run.
