Bluegrass concerts on square start June 26
Main Street Corydon, in conjunction with the Harrison County Convention and Visitors Bureau, is announcing the second annual Bluegrass on the Square concert series.
The events are free and open to the public and will run from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturdays June 26, July 24 and Aug. 28.
‘Just remember, the fourth Saturday of the month all summer long!’ said concert organizer Sean Hawkins, the community development manager for the CVB.
Bluegrass on the Square will be held on the Hurley D. Conrad Memorial Bandstand in the heart of historic Corydon. ‘Bring your lawn chair and blankets. Drinks and refreshments will be served,’ Hawkins said.
Bluegrass on the Square will feature many of the area’s finest bluegrass bands.
On June 26, the series starts with North Vernon’s Lost Mill String Band and will close with Bardstown Kentucky’s Bluegrass 101.
In July, there will be ‘a nice mix’ with the traditional sounds of North Vernon’s Skynny Lynyrd and Louisville’s favorite, The Hog Operation, Hawkins said.
To complete the series, in August, Corydon will host regional favorites Old Louisville Express and Storefront Congregation.
