The Rev. Howard Rogers

The Rev. Howard E. Rogers, Indianapolis, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in Indianapolis.
He was the son of Cort E. and Vivian I. Goldman Rogers of Milltown.
He was a graduate of Milltown High School, Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky., and Louisville Presbyterian Seminary in Louisville. He served churches in Panama City, Fla., Georgetown, Westport, Bellaire, Indianapolis, New Albany and Speedway.
He was a superintendent for the Vincennes District of the South Indiana Conference, where he served five years, and was a senior minister at Zionsville United Methodist Church. He retired in 1994, but remained a member of the conference.
Survivors include his wife, the former Laura Loraine Hutslar; three daughters, Barbara Bates of Greenfield, Judith Roberts of Avon and Patricia Batey of Indianapolis; two brothers, Jerome Rogers of Milltown and Charles Rogers of Rockwell, N.C.; a sister, Golda Nelson of Wickliffe; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A service of remembrance and celebration was May 27 at Speedway United Methodist Church with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Home in Speedway handled the arrangements.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or to Speedway United Methodist Church.
