Brown socks record 11 RBI in 22-5 rout

‘We were just on.’
Those were the words of Lanesville baseball coach Sean Smith after his club clobbered host New Washington last Wednesday afternoon, 22-5.
Leading the way with a school-record 11 RBI ‘ which also ties him for fifth in the state all-time for one game ‘ was senior Adam Brown.
Brown had a grand slam, a three-run homer, a three-run triple and a sacrifice fly for a 4-5 effort at the plate.
The last player to hit 11 RBI in a game was Hauser’s Chad Miller in 2000.
Seth Jacobs, a freshman, went 5-5 with five RBI.
‘We’ve got a heck of a week coming up and it was nice to get a game like this in,’ Smith said.
Among those hitting doubles were Brown, Schneider, Hancock, Jacobs, Beckman and two by Smitley.
The Eagles (6-9) scored 11 runs in the first inning.
