William Willard
William Paul Willard, 77, Corydon, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Gravel Switch, Ky., born April 28, 1926, he was the son of the late Clarence Eugene and Mattie Corine Edwards Willard.
He was a lifelong owner, trainer and driver of thoroughbred and harness race horses, and a member of the United States Trotting Association and the Kentucky and Illinois Racing Commission. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Louise Jordan.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Greenwell of Corydon; a stepson, Scott Wiseman of Corydon; two stepdaughters, Rita Conrad and Carla Hoehn, both of Corydon; a sister, Martha Jean Willard; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, April 25, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Larry Hensley.
Pallbearers: Ronnie Conrad, Ronald Greenwell, Scott Wiseman, Jamie Simcoe, Chad Franks and Amzie Neafus Jr.
