County bragging rights on the line Saturday
Four of the toughest gunslingers this side of Tombstone will lead their softball teams into battle on Saturday at Corydon Central High School for the annual Harrison County softball tournament.
Allison Horton (Lanesville), Kristina Lambert (North Harrison), Maria McAfee (Corydon Central) and Brittany Tuell (South Central) will represent their respective clubs in the middle of the diamond.
Corydon Central is the defending champion by virtue of their 2-1, 8-inning victory over North Harrison last season.
The Lady Panthers have won six of the past seven Harrison County Tournaments.
No tourney was held in 2002 due to excessive rain.
Also taking place on Saturday in Ramsey is the annual Harrison County Tennis Tournament.
North Harrison won the tourney last season, followed by South Central, Corydon Central and Lanesville.
Last year’s victory by the Lady Cats was the first time in seven years they hadn’t swept all five positions.
Action at North Harrison is expected to get underway at about 8:30 while the softball tourney will get started at 10 a.m.
