Jesse J. Chanley

Jesse J. Chanley, 72, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Leavenworth, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at his home.
A native of Crawford County, born April 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Charlie and Maude Rhodes Chanley.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 24 years, and was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Chanley; two sisters, Alice Imogene Sturgeon and Mary Summers, and three brothers, Herman, Delbert and Charles Chanley.
Survivors include his wife, the former Carol Marston; two sons, Charlie Chanley of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jesse J. Chanley Jr. of Springfield, Ill.; three daughters, Dianna Seaux of Mesa, Kathy Baker of Aukland, New Zealand, and Jenny Chanley of Hatfield, Mass.; three brothers, Carl Chanley of Leavenworth, Loren Chanley of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Norman Chanley of Campbellsburg; three sisters, Nellie Bills of Salem, Mona Cox of New Albany and Gladys Jones of Marengo; nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service: Saturday, April 24, at 1 p.m. at Fredonia Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Loren Sweeney.
Arrangements: Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo.
Military graveside rites: Performed by the English VFW Post.
