3 speakers at Demos’ J-J dinner Friday

The Harrison County Central Democratic Committee will host its annual Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the North Harrison High School auditeria in Ramsey.
Guest speakers will be Indiana Ninth District Congressman Baron Hill, Indiana Assistant Commissioner of Agriculture Joe Pearson, and David Lewis, clerk of the Indiana Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Cost is $15 per person; tickets are available at the door.
Steve Haggard, chair of the Harrison County Central Democratic Committee, said Monday that the party now has a Web site:
It was designed by FGB Images of Corydon, after Haggard suggested it to the committee, which ‘jumped on the idea,’ Haggard said.
‘We’ve got all kinds of information on there,’ he said, including upcoming events, county officers for the Democratic Party and men’s and women’s clubs, and candidates.
After the May 4 Primary, candidates chosen by their party to advance to the Fall General Election will be able to buy space on the Web site to use as part of their campaign, Haggard said.
This is one way to reach our young people and seniors citizens, who use the Internet quite frequently, Haggard said.
‘Many voters are not home,’ he said. ‘Some read the newspaper; some don’t.’
The Democratic Party will add to its Web site as it evolves.
