IHSAA releases pairings

A field of 383 boys basketball teams will take to the hardwood next week at 64 sites around the state in the 94th annual Indiana High School Athletic Association basketball tournament.
At Corydon and Henryville, sectional play begins Tuesday at 6 p.m., semifinal rounds are Friday at 6 p.m. and the championship is Saturday night at 7:30. At Southridge, one game will be played Tuesday, two games will be played Wednesday at 6 p.m., two semifinal games will be played Friday at 6 p.m. and the final is set for Saturday at 7:30.
The regional round is March 6, semi-state is March 13 and the state final at Conseco Fieldhouse is March 20.
In Class 3A at Corydon Central, the host Panthers (12-7) open play against Madison (8-10) and in the nightcap Scottsburg (12-7) faces off against Salem (10-9).
On Friday, Tuesday’s winners square off prior to the bye game, which pits North Harrison (15-4) against Silver Creek (12-6).
In Class 2A at Southridge, Crawford County (9-9) plays South Spencer (6-14) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, Southridge (11-9) takes on Forest Park (18-2) and Perry Central (9-9) dances with Tell City (4-15). North Posey (8-13) battles the winner of the Crawford County-South Spencer contest before Wednesday’s winners see action.
At Henryville in Class 1A, both Lanesville and South Central will see action on Tuesday night.
The Eagles (7-13) drew Christian Academy of Indiana (3-15) and the Rebels (11-8) will tussle with New Washington (1-19).
On Friday, Tuesday’s winners face off, followed by the bye-game of Henryville (16-4) versus Borden (2-16).
Season tickets are $9 and single-session tickets are $5.
— As always, no noisemakers, signs, cowbells or thundersticks are allowed at the state tournament events.
