Sectional pairings, ticket info set

A field of 381 teams will begin play at 64 sectional sites next Tuesday, February 10, in the 2004 IHSAA Girls Basketball Tournament series. Sectional play will continue on February 13 and 14, with the regionals scheduled for February 21, the semi-states on February 28 and the state finals at Conseco Fieldhouse on Saturday, March 6.
All championship games will be played Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
In Class 3A action at North Harrison, Corydon Central (15-3) takes on Silver Creek (11-7) at 6 p.m., with Salem (2-15) battling Madison (9-10) in the nightcap.
On Friday, winners from Tuesday’s games will square off at 6 p.m., with the two-time defending champion Lady Cats (15-3) going toe to toe with Scottsburg (15-4). The championship is slated for Saturday night.
In Class 1A action at New Washington, South Central (15-6) kicks off its bid to repeat as sectional champion against the team with the best record in the field, Christian Academy of Indiana (13-5). The second game on Tuesday pits defending New Washington Sectional champion Borden (9-10) against the host Lady Mustangs (5-12).
Winners from Tuesday’s game square off at 6 p.m. on Friday, followed at 7:30 by a tilt between Lanesville (8-9) and Henryville (5-16).
At Class 2A at Tell City, there will be four nights of play.
The host club (13-4) plays Southridge (10-7) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Wednesday night, Crawford County (10-9) goes up against South Spencer (15-3) at 6 p.m., followed at 7:30 by Forest Park (6-12) versus North Posey (10-10).
On Friday at 6 p.m., Perry Central (6-11) plays the winner of Tuesday’s game, with Wednesday’s winners battling at 7:30.
— Season tickets for the North Harrison and New Washington sectionals are now on sale at Corydon Central (for NH) and South Central (for NW). Single-session tickets are available at each sectional site for $5.
— Tickets at Corydon are being sold every day until sectional Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the athletic director’s office. Tickets will also be sold during the Corydon-Clarksville game on Thursday night.
Seating is non-reserved and the season-ticket is $9.
— At South Central, tickets are on sale throughout the school day today through Friday in the athletic office.

— South Central’s girls varsity game at Salem has been rescheduled for Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. The game was originally slated for last night, however due to snow make-ups, Salem needed to schedule a conference game for Tuesday.
— South Central’s boys varsity game at Henryville ‘ which will decide the Southern Athletic Conference championship ‘ will be played tonight (Wednesday). The JV tips off at 6 p.m.
— North Harrison’s boys basketball game hosting West Washington will be made up on Feb. 14 with a noon junior varsity start (due to the girls basketball sectional being held that night).
