Eric T. Ray
Eric Tyson Ray, 19, Louisville, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, from gunshot wounds in an incident in the parking lot of the Clarion Hotel in Louisville. Robert Robbins, 18, Louisville, Ray’s best friend and classmate at Trinity High School and then the University of Louisville, was also killed.
The Louisville Metro Police have made an arrest and are investigating the killings.
Ray grew up in Harrison County and was the son of the late Ronald Lee Ray, a former North Harrison Upper Elementary School teacher for 21 years and junior high basketball coach. The elder Ray died in 1998 after a heart transplant operation.
Eric was a freshman at the University of Louisville and a 2003 graduate of Trinity High School.
Survivors include his mother, Kathy Ray; his stepfather, Stephen Davison; and grandparents, Chester and Patricia Davison, Russell and Iris Poe, and Harold and Joann Fancher, all of Marengo.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 29, at Southeast Christian Church with burial in Cave Hill (Ky.) Cemetery.
