Helen V. Jones

Helen V. Jones, 90, Marengo, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
A native of Blount County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Cora Bell Spencer Highland.
She was a retired nurses aid and a member of Marengo Wesleyan Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Cecil Jones, Aug. 26, 1993; two brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Bullington of Hardinsburg, Doris Birdwell of Gallatin, Tenn., and Agnes Porter of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Melborn Highland of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Bernita Woodby of Maryville, Tenn., and Bertha Mae Jones of Friendsville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 28, after 9 a.m. at Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo.
Funeral: Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Marengo Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Steve Lock and Brother Bruce Shearer.
Pallbearers: Bryant Birdwell, Greg Beckner, Cory Novak, Clint Novak and Jeremy Novak.
Honorary pallbearers: Austin Birdwell, Devin Elliott and Dakota Novak.
