Elliott C. Halliday Jr.

Elliott C. (Junie) Halliday Jr., 85, Greenville, died at 7:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at his home.
A native of Louisville, born Jan. 8, 1919, he was the son of the late Elliott C. Sr. and Margaret Hoerni Halliday.
He was a Navy Carpenter 2nd Class and a member of Portland Avenue Presbyterian Church, American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, and Masonic Lodge 258 Excelsior in Louisville. He retired from Naval Ordinance and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Ruth Manion; a son, Elliott (Scott) Halliday of Greenville; three daughters, Dianne Halliday and Kathleen Hamilton, both of New Albany, and Karen Ruth Hamilton of Greenville; a sister, Janice Pressley of Mars Hill, N.C.; six grandsons, and nine great-grandchildren.
Private graveside service: Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. at Portland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Louisville.
Officiant: The Rev. Willa Fae Williams.
Visitation: Friday, Jan. 16, at 2:30 p.m.
Arrangements: R.D. Pyke Funeral Service in Henryville.
