CC swimmers open season

The boys and girls swim teams from Corydon Central High School turned in some admirable performances in a 5-way meet on Saturday at Madison.
The Lady Panthers took third behind first-place Madison and Batesville while the Panther swimmers came in fifth on the boys side.
Corydon’s girls quartet of Alaine Burch, Sarah VanGaasbeek, Ava Pendleton and Rachel Rosenbaum won the 200-yard medley relay in 2:14.10.
The same group was second in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:03.51.
VanGaasbeek was a winner in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.94 and the 100-yard freestyle (1:05.24).
Rachel Rosenbaum won the 500 freestyle in 6:20.28 and Nate Ettinger scored a win in the 100-yard freestyle (59.62).
In the 200-yard freestyle, Burch was runner up in 2:36.45, Rosenbaum was second in the 200 individual medley (2:42.93), Ettinger was second in the 100-yard fly (1:05.95) and Pendleton and Burch went 2-3 in the 100 breastroke.
Philip Barth was sixth in the 50 freestyle and Garrod Sieveking was eighth; and in the 100 breastroke Barth was seventh and Sieveking eighth.
Pendletown was fifth in the 100 fly.
