Noel E. Ripperdan, 78, Corydon, died at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Valley City, born Jan. 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles and Irene Wright Ripperdan.
He was a former owner and operator of the old Ripperdan Store at Mauckport and an employee at Denbo and Dillman-Green Funeral homes, He was a member of New Salisbury Full Gospel Church, Corydon VFW Post 2950, and an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Ripperdan, and a sister, Alleine Schnider.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Buretta Ripperdan; three sons, Gary L. Ripperdan of Mauckport, Jeffery D. Arnold of Taswell and Steven A. Arnold of English; two sisters, Anna Jean Cunningham of Jeffersonville and Josephine Curts of Corydon; six grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 25, at New Salisbury Full Gospel Church with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Corydon. Officiant: The Rev. Rollie Collins.
Music: Elmer and Barbara Starrett, Brother Walter Raines, Lillian Conlee, Bernie Stone, and Ondie and Kathleen Wireman.
Military rites: Provided at the gravesite by VFW Post 2950.
Pallbearers: Gary L. Ripperdan II, Brian Ripperdan, Chris Ripperdan, Noel (Rob) Arnold, John Curts and Bill Curts.
