Joseph S. Masden, 75, Floyds Knobs, died Sunday evening, Oct. 5, 2003, at University of Louisville Hospital after sustaining injuries when he fell from scaffolding while doing construction on a building.
A native of Colesbury, Ky., born Jan. 5, 1928, he was the son of the late Arthur and Zita Booth Masden.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Mary’s of Navilleton Catholic Church, Carpenters Local 64 in Louisville and VFW Post 1693 Hobart Beach.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jean Webb; five sons, Dennis Michael, Joseph Thomas, Phillip Ronald, Timothy Lee and Darrell Eugene Masden; three sisters, Ophelia Forester, and Mary and Katherine Milby; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Prayer service: Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Generations Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s of Navilleton Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Habitat for Humanity.
