Sam C. Norwood

Sam C. Norwood, Birdseye, 61, formerly of Marion, died at 12:16 p.m. Aug. 8, 2003, at his home.
A native of Wabash, born Aug. 25, 1941, he was a retired supervisor from Gen-Corp in Wabash and Marion, and was employed six years with the Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of Wickliffe United Methodist church, the Scottish Rite, Hanna Lodge in Wabash, Mizpah Temple of Fort Wayne and the American Legion Post 248 in Largo.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, the former Beverly Sklenar; two sons, Sam Norwood of Wabash and Jeff Norwood of Huntington; two stepsons, Bob Devine of Hartford City and Alex Devine of Fairmount; a daughter, Diane Norwood of Fort Wayne; three stepdaughters, Jean Poque of Birdseye, Barb Seward of Fairmount and Brenda Devine of Gas City; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Aug. 11, at the Wickliffe United Methodist Church; private burial to follow.
Officiant: The Rev. Jan Dixon.
Arrangements: T.L. Pinnick Mortuary.
