Firm may purchase Walnut Creek
Residents of Walnut Creek at Corydon will stay put at least a while longer as a sale is pending with an out-of-state investment company.
‘We’re still up and running,’ Stefanie Englebrecht, administrator at Walnut Creek, said Monday. ‘It’s business as usual.’
Many relatives of Walnut Creek residents spoke out recently concerning their distress at the mere thought of having to move loved ones from the facility.
The parent company, Metro Health Foundation, had decided to dissolve that company and placed the Corydon facility with a broker. If the nursing home didn’t sell, the last day of business would have been tomorrow, July 31. Instead, Englebrecht said a New York investment company plans to purchase the Corydon home.
