Corydon man, 20, dies in 2-car crash

A Corydon man was killed and two others were injured last week during a head-on collision.
Christopher Michael Stowers, 20, was driving north on Gethsemane Road when his Mitshubisi Eclipse hit a southbound Ford Bronco driven by Stephen Janusz, 41, of Corydon.
The crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, north of High View Drive west of Corydon.
Bryan Terry, 18, of Corydon, a passenger in Stowers’ car, told Officer Anthony Mills of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Dept. that when Stowers came over a hill in the narrow road, his car was in the middle of the road. Terry told police he couldn’t remember anything after that.
Harrison County Coroner Chad Cesar said Stowers died at the scene of massive chest, neck and head injuries.
Police said Stowers was wearing a seat belt. His body had to be extricated from the car.
Janusz also was trapped in his vehicle, police said. It was not known if he was wearing a seat belt.
Janusz and Terry, who was wearing a seat belt, were transported by STATCARE air ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital. Police said Janusz had facial injuries and Terry had a possible broken leg.
