Marilyn M. Simler, 73, Central, died Wednesday, May 7, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Harrison County, born June 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nellie Watson Applegate.
She was a former employee of Longbottom Hardsaw and a store her father owned in Central. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Old Capitol Chapter 467 in Corydon, the Central Homemakers Club and Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the South Harrison School Board and a 4-H leader for 30 years.
Survivors include two sons, Larry A. and Terry L. Simler, both of Central; a daughter, Debbie S. Simler of Central; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, May 10, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Central Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Rick Utz.
Organist: Lea Wiseheart.
Pallbearers: Roger Dowden, Michael Dowden, Tim Wisehart, Bob Applegate, Clark Hardsaw and Gerald Jacobs.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Diabetes Association.
