Montford E. Coomer

Montford Elwood Coomer, 79, Milltown, died Friday, May 2, at 1:19 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Columbia, Ky., born March 26, 1924, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Edna Harvey Coomer.
He was a former employee of Commercial Motor Frame, a farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and an ex-POW. He attended Hardinsburg United Methodist Church and was a member of Milltown Masonic Lodge 661 and Milltown Order of Eastern Star 412.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Reid Coomer, a brother, Harvey Edward Coomer, and a sister, Berniece Curry.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruby Hadley; two daughters, Sheila Sieg of Milltown and Beatrice Green of Columbia; a sister, Ann Allen of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, May 4, at Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Officiant: Brother Vance Bruner and Pastor Jane Harbeson.
