North-South All-Star game this weekend; HBCA games April 27
An elite group of Indiana’s senior basketball players will gather at Forest Park High School in Ferdinand this Saturday to showcase their skills in the Reebok North-South All-Star Classic.
The girls and boys double-header, which begins at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., features a quartet of players from Harrison County.
On the girls “South” roster, South Central’s Rachel Dixon and North Harrison’s Kim McMillin will take to the court, while on the boys “South” list, South’s Brian Mercer and North’s Chad Miller appear.

There will be four games on tap for the event – 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – with players from four districts being invited to participate.
From the local District 4 area, North’s Kim McMillin and Liz Geltmaker, Corydon Central’s Colleen Merk and Sarah Esarey and South Central’s Rachel Dixon will pair up with Lauren Stewart (Jeffersonville), Maddie Richards (Floyd Central), Catherine Graham (Southwestern), Sara Gavin (Providence) and Lisa Heiny (Borden) under Lady Cat head coach Missy Voyles in a game against District 3’s best.
On the boys side, it will be Corydon’s Quentin Combs, North’s Chad Miller and South Central’s Aaron Vaught and Brian Mercer filling out the District 4 roster with Ed Uyesugi (Paoli), Richie McCracken (Orleans), Mitch Brown (New Albany), Ronnie Ragains (West Washington) and Scottsburg’s Daniel Watson and Brian Roberts.
