Florence K. Viles

Florence Kathern Viles, 81, Vernon, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
A native of Jefferson County, born Aug. 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence Brown Armand.
She was a former employee of the dietary department at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center, a 1939 graduate of Butlerville High School and a member of Otter Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Albert Viles, a son, Keith Viles, a brother, David Armand, a sister, Pauline Williams, and a granddaughter.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Viles of Vernon; four daughters, Joan Steward of Depauw, Sharon Rehrer of North Vernon, and Shirley Whicker and Sheila Staley, both of Columbus; three brothers, Frank Armand of Dover, Pa., Richard Armand of Clarkston, Mich., and George Armand of Westport; two sisters, Jane Smith of Westport and Patricia Linton of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, March 30, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with burial in Otter Creek Cemetery in Nebraska, Ind.
Officiant: The Rev. Gilbert Schreiber.
